This Earth Day, Change Your Perspective

A lily growing out of the ground

Astrophysicists tell us that the material in our body has been through countless cycles of creation and destruction.  As the Serbian proverb goes: be noble for you are made of stars; be humble for you are made of dung. On this Earth Day, one simple way to connect is to get yourself into proximity with the nearest growing thing. It could be a plant on your windowsill or a nearby park or nature preserve. Get curious. What do you notice? What textures are there? What aromas? What can you hear? What do your eyes observe? What different perspectives can you take? As we become present with ourselves, foraging through our myriad sense perceptions, and then extend that presence to another living, growing entity, a marvelous world awaits the curious. If you are interested in exploring how reconnecting with nature might restore resilience and enhance your leadership, reach out.
